ABOUT goodnews4ck.com

Family At Church

We are a company of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures, nationalities and many walks of life with one essential theme in common. We have come to know God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour and Lord. We know for sure on the basis of God’s Word, the Bible, that our sins are forgiven, we will be in heaven at the end of life’s journey, and we know the Lord Jesus now as our companion and friend along the way. What did we do to deserve all that?! Absolutely nothing! We are living in the personal joyful confidence that “the Son of God loved me, and gave Himself for me”.

Sound presumptuous? Too good to be true? A dreamworld? Come and hear about the Jesus of the Bible. Learn why He and He alone is the source of eternal life, the way to heaven and the real resource for meaning in life.

Our mission is to spread the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to the communities of Chatham-Kent.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you" Matthew 28:19-20

BIBLICAL DOCTRINES BELIEVED AND TAUGHT

  • WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the holy, inspired Word of God. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable…” (2 Timothy 3:16). It is our “blueprint” for all that is taught.

  • WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He is co-equal and co-eternal with God the Father. He was conceived miraculously of the Holy Spirit in Mary and born in Bethlehem. His life was holy and sinless (John 1:1; Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 7:26).

  • WE BELIEVE that mankind is fallen spiritually in sin by birth (Romans 5:12). He is therefore under Divine condemnation and is incapable of meriting Divine favour. He is helpless and without power to obtain salvation by his own efforts (Romans 5:6; Ephesians 2:8, 9). Apart from being “born again” by the power of the Holy Spirit, it is impossible for a man to enter Heaven (John 3:3-7).

  • WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died on the Cross of Calvary and shed His blood for the forgiveness of sin. Only through faith in Him as personal Saviour can a person have eternal life – be born again (John 1:29; 1 Peter 3:18; John 14:6).

  • WE BELIEVE in the bodily, physical resurrection of Christ and in His ascension and return to the “right hand of God” in Heaven (Acts 2:32; Ephesians 1:19-21).

  • WE BELIEVE that Christ is coming to the air to gather to Himself all those, both living and dead, that have trusted Him as Saviour (1Thessalonians 4:14-17; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52).

  • WE BELIEVE in eternal, conscious punishment in Hell for those that reject Christ as the only Saviour (John 3:36; Matthew 25:46).

  • WE BELIEVE in believer’s baptism by immersion, not for the cleansing of sin, but to identify the believer with Christ in His death and His resurrection (1 Peter 3:21; Romans 6:4).

  • WE BELIEVE that all believers should gather to His Name, acknowledging His lordship and carrying out the New Testament pattern as to church order, ministry and discipline (Matthew 18:20; 1 Corinthians 1-14). We believe in the pattern of coming together every first day of the week to commemorate the Lord’s death as He commanded (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Luke 22:19, 20).

  • WE BELIEVE in the priesthood of all believers. The Holy Spirit alone can lead the hearts of believers to worship God and thus we find no Biblical precedent for the clergy (John 4:24; 1 Peter 2:5-9; 1 Corinthians 14:26).

  • WE BELIEVE in the authority of Scripture to “preach the Gospel” (Mark 16:15) free of charge to all men. No collections are taken, for all expenses are met by the free-will offerings of the Christians meeting here. The Gospel can be heard without a moral obligation to join or a financial obligation to contribute.

  • These are a few of the many fundamental, precious truths of God’s Word which we believe and endeavour to practice. Jesus said “If you know these things, happy are you if you do them.” (John 13:17). We welcome questions and we invite all to attend the meetings of the assembly. We are delighted to have visitors observe the order of our gatherings and search the Scriptures to compare the Word with what they see and hear.
